38th Annual Black Heritage Festival

Event Description "Poems of the Past: Whispers of our Ancestors" Festival Coordinator, Mrs. Georgia Calhoun, returns to organize the longest running Black Heritage Festival in Alabama! Join us the third Saturday in February as we celebrate Black History Month at the Museums and Gardens! The festival begins at 10:00am at the Longleaf Botanical Gardens and includes: Children’s Oration Competition, music, and African-inspired vendors available to shop. Show your festival wristband at the front desk of Anniston Museum of Natural History and Berman Museum for free admission all day Saturday. Baby Boys BBQ will be onsite with lunch available for purchase. Plan to spend the day with us and Explore Your World through Poetry and the Museums and Gardens! Interested in registering your child in the Children’s Oration Competition? Speak with your principal for participation forms or stop by Anniston Museum of Natural History to register today!
