39th Annual Black Heritage Festival

Event Description Join us as we celebrate Black History Month with the power of poetry at the 39th Annual Black Heritage Festival! Coordinated by Mrs. Georgia Calhoun and located at the Longleaf Botanical Gardens, the festival returns with orations from children in Pre-Kindergarten to High School. The festival begins at 10:00am. All children wanting to participate in the oration competition must be registered by 9:30am Saturday, February 16. African-inspired vendors will line the Longleaf Botanical Gardens’ lobby with an assortment of books, jewelry, clothing, and more available for your shopping pleasure from 10:00 – 3:00pm. Baby Boy’s BBQ will be onsite with lunch available for purchase. Festival wristbands grant complimentary admission to the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum for all festival attendees on Saturday, February 16.
