Event Description The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Alabama will kick off the season with a bang! Lace up your running shoes and join in the Blue Streak 5K color run. The Blue Streak Run is a 5K Color Run and Family Fun Walk/Run all to commemorate and raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month and to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast AL. Each year, April brings awareness to keeping Children Safe in our communities, and recognizing the good work of agencies and programs that help prevent child abuse. This event is hosted by The Gadsden Mall and Raymond James. Join us, in the rear parking lot of the Gadsden Mall, by the James D. Martin Wildlife Entrance. Registration begins at 6:30 A.M. and the race starts at 8:00 AM. The trail begins at the mall, streaks through the beautiful historic streets of Gadsden's residential area, then though the scenic James D. Martin Wildlife Park, along the Coosa River, ending at The Gadsden Mall. There will be bursts of vibrant blue colored powder at points throughout the race to keep you moving forward! There will also be a one mile family fun walk- run starting at 9:00am. After the race and awards, the kids will have an Easter Egg Hunt at the Wildlife Park.
