Oct 31    Job Shadow Day for City Schools

The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Anniston High School, Jacksonville High School, and Oxford High School to provide students an opportunity to shadow their future career on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 8am-2pm. Job shadowing enriches the lives of the students by exposing them with on-the-job experiences. By “shadowing”, students will acquire a real worldview of the type of work they are dreaming about for themselves. The Chamber feels this effort helps young adults understand that what they learn in the classroom leads to success in the workplace. It also gives businesses the opportunity to showcase skills needed by future employees.

The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce would like to coordinate with your business to secure placement of these students.

Students will be responsible for their own transportation, or the school may agree to provide transportation for them. Students will contact their assigned business ahead of time to discuss safety procedures, promptness, dress code, lunch, and other expectations. And parents will sign a permission form for each participating student.

The Chamber will coordinate with your business to document and provide feedback for the students and schools.

Please contact us if your business would like to participate.
Sincerely,
Krychelle Smith
