The Wren's Nest Gallery opens at OPAC

The Oxford Performing Arts Center, in collaboration with the Wren’s Nest Inc., is pleased to announce the opening of the Wren’s Nest Gallery at the venue. The Gallery will be open to the public Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and performance days, starting Friday, August 18, 2017. The new installment will feature works by the nationally renowned artist, Larry K. Martin.

The Gallery has represented artist Larry K. Martin for almost four decades. Wildlife Art collecting rose exponentially with the advent of limited edition art printing and the Wren’s Nest was one of the earliest single-artist galleries to offer print editions to a nation-wide audience of eager collectors.

“The Wren's Nest welcomes this opportunity to re-establish a real presence, rather than just the "virtual internet gallery,” in one of the most beautiful venues in our home area of Northeastern Alabama. Wren's Nest is honored to be part of a valuable local cultural asset. Together with the remarkable staff of the Oxford Performing Arts Center, we at the Wren's Nest look forward to providing artwork that will add further to this showplace- a destination that promises to become one of our state's most appreciated and popular attractions. We anticipate becoming one of the reasons travelers come to regard our area as a cultural experience- from Oxford's entertainment and Visual Arts, to Anniston's museum complex and galleries, and JSU's cultural enriching programs.” – C.D. Hancock, President, Publisher, and Co-owner of Wren’s Nest Inc.

“The Wren’s Nest will add to the tradition of artistic excellence that we celebrate here at OPAC. We are beyond pleased to welcome them here in Oxford at their new home.” –John Longshore, Executive Director of Oxford Performing Arts Center

"The Wren's Nest at OPAC is a great opportunity for Historic Downtown Oxford and the City of Oxford overall. We are excited to be adding more to the arts in this area with the works of Mr. Martin." - Hunter Gentry, Interim Main Street Program Manager
